Estate Valuation

Estate and inherited property valuation in Northern New Jersey.

Settling an estate requires a value that holds up: for the tax filings, for the court, and for fairness between heirs. It usually lands on someone's desk at an already difficult time, alongside everything else an executor carries.

I am a New Jersey State-Certified Residential Appraiser producing documentation attorneys and accountants can rely on, with nearly twenty years of experience across Bergen, Hudson, Essex, and Passaic Counties.

What happens after you reach out

  1. 1

    A brief intake

The property, the purpose of the valuation, and the timeline you are working against. Your attorney or accountant determines what the situation requires; I provide the defensible value.

  2. 2

The appraisal or valuation the purpose requires

Date-of-death valuations, current-value appraisals, or both, matched to what the filing calls for.

  3. 3

    A written report

Certified documentation suitable for tax filings and probate proceedings, delivered on the agreed timeline.

  4. 4

    Coordination if needed

I work directly with the estate's attorney or accountant when that makes things easier for the family.

Why families and attorneys work with me

An estate valuation has to survive scrutiny from the IRS, the surrogate's court, and sometimes the heirs themselves. That calls for a State-Certified Residential Appraiser and USPAP-conducted work, not an estimate.

I am also a practicing broker, which means that when a family asks whether to keep or sell an inherited home, I can answer from real market experience. I give that advice only when asked. The valuation itself never pitches a listing.

Confidential, no obligation. I respond personally within one business day.

I am the Head Underwriter for a smaller sized lender. I use Jeff because he is timely, efficient and carries a strong common sense approach to valuating properties. He has a excellent understanding of what is needed. Jeff is not afraid to discuss the details of his work and even point out things I may have missed myself. Once you interact with him and see his body of work, I would bet that you come back to him again once the time came and you would recommend him to others. Thank you Jeff, for the work you do for me & my company!
